STATUS INDICATOR:

Why is the STATUS INDICATOR flashing amber fast?

  • Indicates telephone line is not connected.  Connect the telephone LINE cord to the wall jack and make sure the telephone line is operational. Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.
Why is the STATUS INDICATOR alternately flashing between GREEN and RED slowly in idle?
  • Indicates the Call Transfer Number is not stored.  Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.
Why does the STATUS INDICATOR flash RED fast for 5 seconds after every call and the call transfer does not work?
  • No 3-WAY CALLING or CALL FORWARD telephone service detected. Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.
Why does the STATUS INDICATOR remain RED solid?
  • Indicates that an extension telephone is off-hook.  Hang-up the extension telephone.

CALL TRANSFER:

Why does the telephone ring, but the calls are not transferred?

  • Make sure the ML-200 AUTOMATIC CALL TRANSFER is turned On.   Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.
Why is the ML-200 answering the ring and trying to transfer the call but nothing happens?
  • There could be several causes as follows:
    1) Unit not set up correctly.  See Owner's Guide for basic installation.
    2) Try changing the DIALING SPEED to slow (Refer to Owner's Guide).
    3) You cannot transfer your calls to a long distance number.  Line may be toll restricted and long distance is not allowed.  Contact your telephone company.
Why do I get transferred calls, but no one is there?
  • The caller has hung up during the transfer.  A PERSONALIZED TRANSFER GREETING will reduce the frequency of these calls because the ML-200 will not transfer the call if the caller hangs-up during the greeting.  Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.
How can I stop getting telemarketing calls transferred to my Wireless phone?
  • Enable the Tele-Stopper feature.  Most telemarketers will hang-up if a greeting answers their call.  A PERSONALIZED TRANSFER GREETING will reduce the frequency of these calls.  Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.
Why are some transferred call cutoff?
  • A transferred call will be disconnected for any of the following:
    1) The call exceeded 59 minutes.
    2) There was silence or constant noise for 3 minutes.
    3) The Automatic Transfer ON-OFF button was pressed.
    4) The ML-200 experienced a power outage during a call.
Will I get charged on my telephone bill for transferred calls?
  • Transferred calls are the same as you dialing the number manually at your home/office and are subject to local or toll charges as appropriate.

REMOTE OPERATION:

Why doesn't the ML-200 respond when I enter my REMOTE PIN ACCESS CODE?

  • Try re-entering the correct code again or record a PERSONAL TRANSFER GREETING to make it easier to remote.   Refer to Owner's Guide for more information.

PROGRAMMING:

Why do I hear busy tones and other telephone signals when programming?

  • Disregard any telephone signals you may hear during programming.  These tones are normal.

GENERAL OPERATION:

Why can't I set the CALL TRANSFER NUMBER.  The INDICATOR keeps flashing GREEN and RED?

  • First, confirm that you are using a TONE (DTMF) telephone.  The ML-200 needs TONE dialing to set the number.  Second, confirm that the telephone you are using is connected to the same telephone line as the ML-200.
I have more than one telephone number, why am experiencing difficulty operating the ML-200?
  • See MULTI-LINE INSTALLATION in the Owner's Guide.
Why does the ML-200 dial a 3-digit number when it is first connected?
  • The ML-200 needs to turn off CALL FORWARDING in case it is ON so that the AUTOMATIC TRANSFER ON-OFF button works properly.
What should I do if, after several attempts, the ML-200 will not operate properly properly?
  • Follow the FACTORY RESET directions in the Owner's Guide to completely reset the ML-200.  If this action does not fix the problem, call or email the QT TECHNOLOGY, INC. Help Line.   QT can often resolve problems or recommend repair service when needed.  If possible, please call the Help Line on the same telephone line that the ML-200 is connected to.  This will allow the Help-Line to access a diagnostic mode in the ML-200 which may help solve the problem.
